  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips mixed types
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips, nuts, and sprinkles if using.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets spaced two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  7. Allow cooling slightly before enjoying.
