Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Box Cake

Ingredients
  

Topping
  • 1 can sliced pineapple in juice, drained
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
Cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

Prepare the Topping
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until well mixed.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of the cake pan.
  4. Arrange the pineapple slices on top of the sugar mixture and place a cherry in the center of each pineapple slice.
Make the Cake Batter
  1. In a separate bowl, prepare the yellow cake mix according to package instructions, adding eggs, oil, and water.
  2. Pour the cake batter over the pineapple and sugar mixture in the pan.
Bake the Cake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Invert the cake onto a serving plate, allowing the pineapple topping to be on top.
