Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
  • 1 14 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning.
  4. Add the uncooked orzo pasta, tomato sauce, beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the orzo is cooked al dente.
  6. Stir in the freshly grated parmesan cheese and fresh baby spinach until the spinach is wilted.
  7. Serve immediately.
