Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cans sliced peaches in syrup or juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to enhance flavor
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, cornstarch, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into the baking dish.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  3. Spoon the topping mixture over the peaches in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
